O Test de Bechdel é un sistema para avaliar a fenda de xénero existente na representación das mulleres en obras de ficción. Aínda que a súa invención se atribúe a Liz Wallace, recibe ese nome por popularizarse nunha banda deseñada cómica de 1985 da serie Dykes to Watch Out For, debuxada por Alison Bechdel. Na devandita tira, titulada The Rule, un dos personaxes di que ela unicamente acepta ver unha película se cumpre tres requisitos:
